I Am The Jelly Queen! I Can Do Anything!

There were about ten titles I thought of for this post including, "S-U-C-C-E-S-S, That's the Way You Spell Yummy", "Jammin' On the One", "Peanut Butter Never Had It So Good", "I'm Jellin' Like Magellan" (oh how I hated those commercials) and last but not least, "Gotta Get This Done Before Toot Wakes Up, Gotta Get This Done Before Toot Wakes Up". But I think the play on The Doors will do nicely, yes?

In case I've totally confused you...I made my strawberry jam! Woo hoo!

First local grown strawberries fresh picked:

Then give them a little bath:

Next, pulverize them:

Add just a dash of sugar:

Here's a view of the operations:

Now boil those jars:

Ah, ain't they beautiful?!

And now for my taste:

Voila! Strawberry jam!

Now for anyone that has ever wanted to try canning, I say go for it! It's not hard, there are just quite a few steps in terms of boiling canning. But there's also freezer canning and this recipe could not be easier! A few years ago I started with salsa which turned out pretty good. Jellies and Jams are pretty easy to start with too and trust me, there is NOTHING like jelly/jam made with fresh strawberries and a crap load of sugar!

I will be bouncing off the walls this fine Sunday...

EDIT: I was just thinking...I shouldn't keep this goodness all to myself...

Hmmm....

How about a giveaway? Anyone want their very own jar of my strawberry jam??? Just leave a comment here and I will draw a name sometime this week! Happy Sunday everyone!

Me! Me! I would LCVE some! I've made jam several times in the past...particularly fond of the freezer version. But I'm the only one here to eat it so it's not really worth the time. BTW, jam on waffles...my favorite way to eat it! YUM!!!

MMMMmmmmm... it looks so good but please don't include me in the drawing, unfortunately my taste buds have been ruined by my medications and I wouldn't be able to enjoy it properly. Glad it turned out well for you!
