No idea what the what I'm talking about? Go here to find out more!
This week's Craftholic is the fabulous Callista!
What crafts do you enjoy making?
"Card making, scrapbooking, journals, and altered projects but my current favorites are card making and scrapbooking."
When did you start making crafts? Was there a particular reason or event that got your started?
"I’ve been making crafts for as far back as I can remember. Both of my grandmothers and my mom were crafty ladies, so I grew up watching and learning from them. My mom use to come to my school to teach crafts and she was also my Camp Fire leader, so I learned a lot from her while she was researching what to teach. I also loved doing crafts at day camp and summer camp growing up. I got my first rubber stamps in junior high but really didn’t do much with them besides stamp on envelopes and letters I wrote. In my early 20’s I started really getting into stamping, took a lot of classes, and learned a lot of techniques. Then in my mid 20’s I discovered scrapbooking and have been scrapbooking on and off since then."
Wow, you come from a long line of Craftoholics...awesome!
An album created by Callista
I love the skull with the pink ribbon!
What do you like to do when you aren't crafting?
"I am involved with my husband’s Star Wars costuming group, Garrison Titan, the local chapter of the Nationwide 501st. They raise money for local childrens charities. I also like to kayak, hike, bicycle, go for day trips, camp, spend time with the hubby and our dog Moose, read, watch movies, play Wii, go to festivals, craft bazaars, and work on our house."
Let me just say that if you haven't been to Callista's blog and seen her dog Moose, you are missing the cutest dog ever. Go to her blog right now and look at sweet little Moose...go on, we'll wait...
Are you back? I was right about Moose, right? Cutest dog ever! Now back our regularly scheduled interview:
What makes you a craftoholic? What drives you to create?
"Crafting is definitely in my blood. I currently don’t have a lot of time to spend on my projects so I am always jotting down my ideas and cutting pictures out of magazines for when I finally do have the time. I find if I don’t sit down every few days and create something, even if it’s just a simple card, I’m not a happy person. Crafting is my stress outlet and my escape from every day life!"
Callista's Creative Space
I'm drooling over those little shelves!
What is your favorite food?
"Popcorn! I LOVE popcorn."
What food do you hate to eat?
"Liver! Ugh! I refuse to eat it! My mom use to make it growing up and tell my brother and me that it was steak. I wouldn’t eat steak for the longest time either, but the hubby’s family finally broke me of that."
LOL Your mom is tricksy! I'll have to remember that one...
How long have you been blogging?
"My first post was December 10th, 2007. Wow! I can’t believe it’s been that long!"
What do you like best about blogging?
"Getting to know people I would never have had the opportunity to meet in real life."
What craft have you always wanted to try but, for whatever reason, never have?
"Knitting. I’ve tried crocheting, but my tension is way too tight so I just make knots. So I have never even ventured to try knitting."
Oh no! You've been ship wrecked on a deserted island! (Luckily you grabbed your adhesive and scissors before you jumped ship!) Name 3 other crafting supplies that your creative survival depends upon! (Note: Capt. Jack Sparrow is not a crafting supply!)
"I am really bummed that Capt. Jack Sparrow is not a crafting supply!! Sigh…
My paper cutter (because I can’t cut a straight line without it!), my stack of 12x12 paper (patterns & solids), and glitter. I rarely use glitter at home because it gets EVERYWHERE! Even on Moose, but if I am going to be stranded I am not going to care about there being glitter everywhere!"
Glitter?! A girl after me own heart! Arrrr! Sorry, all this talk about Jack Sparrow puts me in a pirate-y mood! Aye matey!
Thanks for letting me interview you Callista! I loved reading more about you and anyone that loves glitter is a soul sister in my book! lol I happily dub thee fellow sista Craftoholic:
Be sure to check back next Monday when another lucky victim...ahem, I mean crafter will be added to the Craftoholic family!

LOL too funny! Are you sure Jack Sparrow isn't a crafting supply? Really? REALLY really?!
Bummer.

As for Callista, she is FABOO!! And, yessiree, her dog Moose is the cutest pup in the world! :-)
I think it should be made LAW that Capt'n Jack is a crafting supply but... then... we would all have to make sure we got deserted together... and then work out a rota... hmmmm... could be tricky.
This was such a fun interview, it was great learning all about you Callista even if I am now a bit green around the gills at your crafting area.
