Its That Time of Year...

I'm so ready to show you my newest project but its been raining here lately so no pictures to be had...boo! So instead I thought I'd share some of our Christmas decorations:

Here's our tree this year:

I love this ornament, it belonged to Chris' Grandparents:

And my crocheted tree skirt in its new home. I'm still so proud of myself for making this! lol

The fabulous Carrie from Tinkering L8 made me this super awesome wreath!

This is a long table in my hallway I decorated with our Christmas odds and ends (and yes, my hallway is orange. lol)

My mom made the next two pieces for me. I had bought these figure sets of "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer" and "Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town". I gave them to her and she made me a centerpiece and wreath. Awesome!

And now for a sad Christmas tale...

I took Toot to see Santa and not only was she not glad to see him, I had to be in the picture to calm her down, her purple socks I thought no one would see are totally see-able and she looks completely done with Christmas. Well, at least I thought to put some make-up on before I left the house! lol

I'm so in love with this Christmas song:

Merry Christmas everyone, have a great day!

Love your X'mas decorations Maggi! How cute are those Santas climbing up the ladder! So sweet of Carrie to make you that wreath! Gorgeous!

Sorry you were not able to get a good shot of Toot with Santa...you still have time to try again!

Have a wonderful week Maggi!

Great decorations, Maggi--can't wait to see what you've been creating!

If it makes you feel any better, when I took my oldest daughter to see Santa in the mall for pictures, she screamed so hard and wouldn't stop--she never did that!--they gave me my money back!

I was so embarassed, and then I thought...we always teach our kids not to talk to strangers, and then we plop them on some strange man's lap and expect them to smile?! So, I never tried again!

I think your picture turned out adorable, purple socks and all!

Oh Maggi your decorations are beautiful, your Mum and her talent is incredible as is the wreath your friend made.

The song made me teary - I don't know why, thinking of my own Mum and missing her I suppose.

Beautiful post Maggi :)

p.s Every single one of my girls was scared of Santa till at least 3 - I think it's probably what Julie said. So one year I queued up with my sister and best buddy, no kids just us. The elf assured us there was no age limit on seeing Santa so in we went :D :D I may have to dig out the pic - my mate even insisted on sitting on his lap - mind you I don't recall him complaining ;)

Love your decorations! Your tree looks so cute - and I quite like your tree skirt, too. The Toot photo is priceless - I just love that look on her face. I fear I frequently I have the same one at work. :)

Your tree looks so fabulous and I LOVE the tree skirt and I love that wreath! It just reminded me I wanted to make an origami wreath this year. Hmm well we'll see if that happens, haha!

Poor little Toot. Funny how kids can be excited about Santa "on paper" and then be scared in person. It's still a cute photo. :)

What a beautiful tree and decorations. We just went through our ornaments and told the stories that go with each one!!! I love the storytelling that goes with the holidays.

I think that is kids never cooperate for holiday pictures, so you have a story to go with it. Otherwise each year would be piccture perfect and we would have nothing to talk about!
