Worth Her Weight In Salt

This post has something for everyone so step right up! If you're crafty, you'll love my newest project and if you're into babies, you'll love Toot's newest video. See, win win! (Unless you hate crafts and babies in which case...uh...this post will be really boring...)

The first is my new favorite crafty idea which unfortunately I did not think of: altering empty salt containers.

*gasp* What did she say?!

I think she said altering salt containers...

But that's madness!

Yeah well, she's nuts. We knew that going in...

Hey you guys, I'm writing a post here! Oh, sorry... ANYWAY, I found this fabulous little idea over at Altered Art Junkies. (click HERE to see the original post!) Here's what I started with:

I then took the paper off the container, cut the top off and then cut a window out of one side and then through the power of Mod Podge and seed beads...

TA DA!

I covered it in patterned paper, one side says, "Once upon a time" and the other has a couple of frogs wearing a crown which I covered in Stickles. I put pink tulle inside the container and added a picture of yours truly. I don't remember how old I am in this picture but when I was younger I used to wear my dress slip, tights and dress up shows and pretend I was a ballerina. :D

I strung some beads on wire and then Mod Podge to covered the bottom and top with dress pattern pieces and accented them with Stickles. I'm not actually sure its quite finished yet so I may add on to it but until then, yay! lol

And now, may I present....

"The Toot That Was Suppose To Be Napping" In Color!

Love altered salt container!!! Love everything 3D, glittery, and girly all about it.....and you & your ballerina self!!! :>

That video of your Toot just reminds me about all the wonders of the little ones!!! Just LOVE those noises! Made me flash back to when my son would go down for a nap and not nap.....I could always hear him reciting Dr.Suess books (when he was a toddler.....when he didn't nap when he was supposed to be napping as a babe, I just cringed thinking about the crankiness that would follow) and my daughter does the nap for two days and then stay up and talk to herself or orate to her room from her bed for the next nap and on those days, when I come get her at the end of what's supposed to be her nap, she says, "Mama! I'm No Nap Girl today!!" LOL! :>

P.S. Your kiddo is just TOO CUTE! All that abbreviated squealing just melts my heart. My kiddo is a vocal one, too... but hers tend to be less "ah! heehee" than "AAUAAUAUAUAGGGGGHHHHHH! SCREETCH!" heh heh - well, now that she's older, she mostly sings and tells herself the funniest stories. -Amy

your salt container is super cute but nothing can be cuter than Toot. Love how she was so excited to see you and then got to the "umm, are you going to stop videoing and get me out of here...I'm really being very good" stage.
