One thing that has struck me about the show more than anything is the amount of smoking. Most of you know by now that I used to be a heavy smoker before quitting a couple of years ago. Now seeing this much smoking doesn't make me want to light up again HOWEVER should time travel ever be possible, I'm totally going back to the 50's/early 60's and chain smoke like there's no tomorrow. Ah, the days when they had no idea of the consequences of their actions...Why oh why did I have to be born in a generation built on awareness and responsibility?! BOO! HISS! lol
Where was I? Oh yes! So I've started watching Mad Men and since it's raining here today which dashes all my hopes of taking pictures of my current projects to show you all, I've been "Mad Men"-ing myself.
Allow me to introduce...my Mad Men avatar self! Ta da!
Aren't I fabulous?! If you'd like to Mad Men it up on your fabulous self, just GO HERE. A word to wise: 1. It's addicting so watch out and 2. Turn down your speakers because the "da DA da, dadadadadadaDAda" will get to you after a while...trust me...

If you haven't already arranged to get the day off or get a babysitter you better start planning now! It's going to take weeks to get through all of these fabulous parties! lol

You always make me laugh! I love you avatar! It's cute and fits you perfectly. Had no idea you were a heavy smoker a few years ago. I am glad you quit even if your not lol! Hope Toot's doing well and I hope it stops raining there. Don't know about you, but I am ready for some 70 degree weather!

I've not seen Mad Men but I've heard about the awesome wardrobe...:) No smoking for me..I've never tried it...not even once.
you go, mad maggi! June Cleaver would swoon! (have you ever noticed how excruciatingly thin her waist is? EESH!) I havent seen MM yet either, but the day is coming...this weekend my son made me watch all the House episodes that one of the stations was marathoning, so i am all caught up on that one! But MM, well, i think i am gonna be like you on that one-cloootthhheessss....drool.

They do love some smoking. I was born in 1970. I can remember growing up that almost everybody I knew, male and female, smoked liked crazy.
Why darrrrrrrling, you are absolutely fabulous! I adore MM for the plot, but agree with you, more often then not my attention shifts to the cast members' wardrobes. As the show continues and gradually moves further into the 60s though (and thus away from the 50s look I adore), this may change though (or not, I love good costume word regardless of the era ;D).
