I Heart Tombow Glue...

First I have to thank all of you for your sweet comments about Toot. She would thank you too but she's currently trying to eat my couch. I also have to thank my dear friend Karyn for this. You are awesome Karyn!

My mom is addicted to Pier One so whenever we're together, we usually end up there at some point. And so it was this past Saturday after Toot's portrait session we found ourselves at Pier One and I found this little 3x4 blank journal on clearance for $1.

It doesn't look like much, I know. The pages inside are those blank, natural looking parchment like pages and being 3x4, there's not a lot of room. I nonchalantly made some comment about using it as an art journal of sorts and that was that.

So I get it home and start thinking about what I could do with it. I have to say that I've since become obsessed with this little book. Here are a couple of pages with luckily have fit the bill for two challenge blogs this week. (Go me!)

I used part of the white, yellow and brown mixed media color kits from Gauche Alchemy and the quote is the title of the book the movie "A Christmas Story" was based on by Jean Sheperd called "In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash". I made this for this week's challenge at Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge.

This was was almost entirely made from the pink mixed media color kit at Gauche Alchemy except for the letters which are Thickers and the little crochet flower which is from Paper Blooms. I made this one for the very first challenge of the new challenge blog: These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things.

This one was made using the "Happy Housewives" kit from Gauche Alchemy.

I've been having the most fun with this little book and cannot wait to show you more pics of some pages I've made in it!

Broken Record Time: Wow, I am so excited about the growing list for the Christmas In July blog party! Remember, if you would like to add your blog or site to the list (or want it removed), please e-mail me at katamommy at gmail dot com.

Have a great evening everyone!

That is a really pretty creation! What a great find for $1, too. I have so many unused journals, I might have to try to do something with them. You've inspired me!

Ok, see I LOVE art journals, always have. However, I've never made one. Did I just hear a gasp?
So I finally started putting one together and will post some pictures of it in the future(like way after I am moved and settled.
You little mini journal is fab!! I would be overwhelmed over its tinyness.
BTW...I have never been to Pier one and I live 5 minutes from it...was that another gasp?
