Out With The Old (Pictures) and In With The New (Book)

First things first, a little business to attend to I believe:

My very first scrapbook layout!

I was tagged by Jocelyn to post my first layout and there it is! I betcha can't guess what party I was at when I made this beauty, eh? LOL ;) Check it out (top left corner), I still haven't journaled on this page! lol

If anyone else would like to post their first layout(s), let me know because I'd love to take a peek!

In other news, I bought this book earlier this week:

It's a basic information on Japanese cooking along with some health statistics. Very interesting so far and we love Asian cooking so I'm excited to try some recipes out!

Speaking of cooking, I inherited this 1960s Better Homes and Gardens cookbook from my grandmother:

Check out all of that food! lol

There are sections for meal planning, entertaining and how to make your house presentable. Well, one out of 3 ain't bad, right? (I'll leave it up to you to guess which one! lol)

And that reminded me that I bought this apron years ago! lol I think it's from the 50s but the shop tag got ripped off and now I can't remember:

I would have taken a picture of me in the apron with a feather duster but then I remembered that Lebowski ate my feather duster when he was a puppy. Seriously, I came home from work one day and thought a bird had gotten into the house and then promptly exploded...

You'll have to let me know how the Japanese cookbook is! I'm always up for having more things to make for dinner and I'd love to learn how to do some Asian cooking.

I think I've got that Better Homes cookbook as well! Or my mom does...which means she'll probably pass it along to me ;).

LOVE the apron!! :)

Isn't it fun to look back at our first layouts. I will have to get out my daughters baby book - I am sure it is in that. I will check when I get home from work tonight. I have an apron nearly identical that was my Mammaw's. She always wore an apron! Believe or not I have that cookbook too - the old one not the skinny Asian thing LOL!!!!!

Love the layout! ha! It's funny...I will have to dig out my very first layout too...although I must say even at the very beginning...i was so against 'plain'. I thought they were pretty cool - even the very first ones. HA!
That is an awesome cookbook. My mother passed down her mother's FIVE ROSES cookbook, which I have cherished forever. IT's got the most amazing, simple recipes - and they've been in the family for years!! This reminds me, I would so love to one day, make a recipe scrapbook for my daughter. :) Great post today. ♥

That's a cute apron! On the odd chance that I'm being domestic, I never remember to wear one!
