It Has A Nice Bling To It

Before we get going with my most recent fabulous creation, a mini rant and a reminder:

Not that it's a big thing, but has anyone else noticed the change to the "Followers" box? It's got this big box thing around it with ugly buttons and a Google ad. I think it looks trashy now and me no likey. Hey Blogspot, how about leaving well enough alone, hmm? Okay, off with the ugly and on with the fabulous!

MEGA giveaways (hello Cricut!)! Danielle over at Life, One Layout at a Time is giving away a personal Cricut to the 20,000th visitor (we're over 19,000 already so get moving!). She's also giving away a TON of fun stuff to her visitors! She's a fabulous lady and sweet as all get out so go read her blog! You'll enjoy your visit and maybe win something C-O-O-L! Don't forget to say you heard it from me, Katamommy, when you leave your comments (maybe I'll get a goodie too!)

Now, on with the glitter!

Week 4 of the Cruise Around the World in 8 Layouts at Life Preservers Scrapbook Club found us docked in Dubai but trapped in our cabin with a broken doorknob! Eek! So our assignment was to create a layout of who we would miss the most while stuck on board. There would be many people I would miss of course (including my furry babies, Lebowski and Crickette) but let's face it, there are two people I would miss more than anything in the world!

This layout came together very naturally for me. (Yay me!) I started by punching stars in a sheet of black cardstock using my Fiskars star punch. I then applied white cardstock to the back of the black to have something behind the stars and then filled them in with Star Dust Stickles. I used the little cards (from my last post) as journaling cards. The one beside my husband's pic has a special note from me to him and Toot's card is from me to her. I was going to use them as gift tags but felt they matched with my layout well. I glued the white letters for my title and stickled them with the Star Dust Stickles. (Boy, I love Stickles so much! If anyone ever wishes to bribe me, try Stickles. I'll crack every time!)

I then used a star for the "A" and covered it in Stickles. In retrospect, I wish I had used a white star instead (I used a black one) and it would show up a lot more on the page. Darn you hindsight!!!

Keep on rolling!

Hey sweet thang! I love, love the stars!!
And yes, I noticed the followers box. I don't like it either. One think I DID like, however is when you hover your mouse over an image, it brings up options of things you can do. I thought that was pretty cool. But, the "look" of it..they gotta fix! asap! haha
Hope you are having a good day !
(I have been ordered to the couch) ahaha

Very cool as usual Maggi. :)

Karli has a Cricut too. I think you guys would really get along as she likes craft stuff too. She's even going to re-cover my chair for me.
